Nice little hub |
This is a good small footprint hub that sits neatly on the desk. The external power supply looks reasonably well built. The Belkin hot-swaps nicely and seamlessly with MacOs -- but what doesnt? My IBM Thinkpad wont boot if I dont turn on the power to the hub -- but I put that down to the PC not the hub. Overall, the Belkin Modular USB 4 Port Hub has done its job well for the last six months every day for me and is well built. My only real question is that is 4 ports enough? If you keep buying USB devices (from Amazon, naturally), e.g. a Handspring then you run out of ports quickly and have to daisychain USB hubs!

No more wires ! |
After having wires trailing round my loubge for the last 12 months I decided to take the plunge into the world of wireless. The delivery of this item was very prompt as you would expect from Amazon. The installation was very clear. The leaflet explaining it all is designed for beginners so you cannot go wrong. Plugged in my cable modem and network point and it also registered my Laptop with wireless card and that was it. Done. Dusted. Superb.

Happy (mostly!) |
Like: Massive storage, quality sound, loud with bud-style headphones, highly portable, no skips (yet!), fast transfer from PC, can store any dataDislike: No remote (pain), hard-disk contents mysteriously vanished on first use (had to reformat it - luckily only had a few tracks, hasnt happened since I fully charged the batteries), Playlists only work if theyre in the same directory as the tracks - cant span multiple directories... Overall: great product, even better if Archos release a remote and keep the firmware updates coming...
